The sixth annual ball of the staff of Woolworths to be held this evening in Harman’s Hall, is being eagerly looked forward to by hundreds of young people of Wanganui. Many people will remember the extraordinary success that attended last year's function of this well-known local firm. Well over 300 couples danced till the early hours of the morning to the lilting tunes and perfect time of that now nationally known dance band of Fred Gedson's, of Palmerston North. This year an exceptionally strong committee has gone to no end of trouble to make this year’s ball an even greater success than last year, and those attending the dance can expect no end of unexpected and pleasant surprises to heip them enjoy the evening. Judging by the number of invitations which have been issued and constant inquiries which are received for more, Woolworth’s ball, 1937, promises to be an event which will long be remembered in Wanganui.
