A SUGGESTION
Sir,—ln the course of the present discussion of the social evil in our midst we have heard a great deal about the evils that come through drink at dances. The Plunket Society have for their motto, “It’s better to erect a fence at the top of the precipice than to have an ambulance at the foot,” or words to that effect. Now what about the society doing a little fencing by refusing to have intoxicating drinks at the ball to be held on Tuesday. “An Old-fashioned Grandmother.” June 4, 1937.
