BRADDOCK SUSPENDED

COMMISSION’S ACTION PROTEST BY SCHMELING Received June 4, 11.5 p.m. NEW YORK, June 3. The Boxing Commission fined Braddock 1000 dollars and suspended him for failure to appear at the weighingin for the fight with Schmeling tonight, and declared that any fight?r who engaged Braddock also would he suspended. The Illinois Boxing Commission’s co-operation was asked but it is considered unlikely the latter will interfere in the Braddock-Louis contest on June 22. Braddock’s 5000-dollar posted guarantee that he would meet Schmeling was divided between Schmeling, who was ready to-day, and the Madison Square Garden. Schmeling, who faithfully underwent a month’s training here, bitterly protested at the inadequacy of the commission’s action. He had demanded that the title be vacated and himself declared premier challenger. “Now it only means that if Louis wins he will be champion.”
