AIRWAYS SERVICE
AUCKLAND-WELLINGTON PROPOSED SCHEDULE ALTERATION DESIRED 1 Per Press Association. | AUCKLAND, June 4. A request for an alteration in the proposed schedule of Union Airways, Limited-, Auckland-Wellington service to be inaugurated on June 26 is contained in a letter sent to-day by the president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce, Mr W. R. Fee. The letter points out the need for the provision of a one-day service from Auckland to Christchurch and Dunedin, and states that the fact that the north-bound ’plane will connect at Palmerston North with the ’plane from Dunedin, thus providing a oneday service from the South Island centres to Auckland, has given the chamber great satisfaction, but the need for a similar one-day service southwards from Auckland still exists. An alteration in the proposed time-table to enable connection with the south-bound ’plane at Palmerston would be greatly appreciated. He suggests departure from Auckland be at 8.15 a.m. instead of at noon, as proposed.
