WANGANUI ASSOCIATION SEASON'S RANKING LIST SOLE SELECTOR’S PLACINGS. The sole selector for the Wanganui Lawn Tennis Association (Mr. N. B. Barkman) has ranked the association’s leading players (men and women) for the season as under. Men. 1— Cox. 2 Udy. *—Hay Campbell. *—Cavaye. 5 Lampe. 6 T. Latham. 7 V. Latham. 8 — Foster. 9 Scouller. 10— Gordon. 11— O'Toole. 12— Tippens. 13 — McFarlane. 14— Rountree. 15— J. Finlayson. 16— Hutchison. Women. 1— Miss Mary Purcell. 2 Miss Greaves. 3 Miss Margaret Purcell. 4 Mrs. Evans. 5 Miss Cox. 6 Mrs. Dempsey. 7 Miss Sutcliffe. 8— Miss Glover. 9 Miss Jack. 10—Mrs. Richardson. * Ranked evenly. Not ranked, owin.~ to insufficient performances: D. W. Earle and Mrs. Thomson (Marton). The new system for ranking matches adopted by the association, taking all the circumstances into consideration, was a distinct success, and if continued next season, should give the desired results. Several young players have shown definite promise, and the indications are that the ranking list will contain several new names next season.
