A man who forged wholesale orders and endeavoured to obtain a tin ot oil valued at 5s 6d from a motor firm, and brake fluid from another, cam* before Mr. Justice Callan at tn* Supreme Court. Accused was Joint Hodgson, aged 26, printer. He admitted having himself printed orders rnrnortinc to come from Crocombe Motors. The Judge said that prisoner apparently had not got any advantage out of his stupid attempts at dishonesty. He had only one previous conviction. a minor one about eight years ago. His Honour thought, as he was a married man. admitting him to probation with control and indignity, would be a more serious pun-i-hment -han a fine.
