INCREASED SUPPOK. [ Ter Preu Association. ] DUNEDIN, April 15. In an interview to-day the Post* master-General. Hon. F. Jones, expressed gratification of the growth of correspondence forwarded by air. When the inland air mail services commenced in March, 1936, Mr. Jones said, it was estimated that if all the correspondence was despatched by -«r that it would he a gain in transit times and 170,000 letters would be despatched weekly. The first response, 12,000 weekly, was disappointing, but in March of this year the total was 25,000 weekly. The fact that New Zealanders were becoming airminded was also proved by the large increase in letters forwarded from New Zealand to connect with the AustraliaEngland air service. Durinn 1935 the number so forwarded was 117.809, but last year was increased to 209,647.
