AT TRENTHAM

WELLINGTON OFFICIALS „ week’s Wellington meeting Mr. C. W. Tringham, one of the club’s vice-presidents, will be acting president, as the president, Mr. E. L Riddiford, accompanied by Mrs. and Miss Riddiford, is leaving Auckland for England via San Francisco on the Monterey to-day. Mr. Riddiford expects to be away till October, and during his absence Mr. Tringham will remain acting president. Three stewards of the club are also leaving shortly cn trips to England. Mr. W. Higgins sails on Thursday, on the day the meeting opens, and Messrs. H. P. F. Blundell and C. M. Turrel are leaving next month. Dr. H. A. H. Gilmer, another steward, went away in December and is stiH abroad.
