BOUT AT ASHBURTON JJ4S ADAMS BEATS Al. ST<>< K [ Per Pres* Association. } ASHBURTON, Dec. 27. Les Adams (9.12), of Ashburton, beat Al Stock (10.0), of Napier, in a professional welterweight boxing bout in the open air on Saturday evening. Stock was the better boxer in the first three rounds, but in the next six, Adams landed heavy jolts. Stock took the 12th., but in the final three Adams regained the advantage. He owed his win to greater stamina, longer reach, and ability to take the fight to his opponent.
