FLOATING DRY DOCK
THE LARGEST IN THE WORLD BUILDING TENDERS RECEIVED Received Nov. 26, 8.51 p.m. WASHINGTON, Nov. 26. The Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corporation, New York, with six alternate proposals, ranging from 16,604,000 dollars to 21,312,000, is the sole bidder for the navy’s new floating dry dock at Pearl Harbour. It will be the world’s largest dock of its kind, 1016 feet long and weighing 45,000 tons. Authorities deem the bids as high and the navy will consider building the dock in its own yards on the Pacific Coast.
