HONOUR CONFERRED

The insignia of Dame of Grace of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem was conferred on Lady Ferguson on Tuesday night by the GovernorGeneral, Viscount Galway, on behalf of His Majesty the King. Lady Mary Emmeline Ferguson Is the wife of Sir Henry Lindo Ferguson, Professor of Opthalmology at Otago University. Lady Ferguson served for six years on the Dunedin Hospital Board, being one of the first women in New Zealand elected for such service. She was president ot the women’s branch of the Overseas Clu6 during the war, and a member of the Red Cross Committee. She has been president of the Otago Women’s Club since 1915.
