Meteorological Office, Wellington, Thursday, November 26, 4 p.m. General Situation—A rather intense depression is moving on to the Dominion, its centre at present being located off the west coast of the South Island, while an anti-cyclone covers eastern Australia and the western Tasman Sea. Forecast—Winds: Moderate to strong northerly winds of gale force in places, but southerlies setting in soon in the far south and becoming general within the next 16 to 24 hours. Seas (N.Z. waters). Rough on the west coast of the North Island and rather rough to rough elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong south-westerly to southerly winds to gales with rough seas, but conditions moderating to-morrow. Weather.—Dull, misty and squally, with rain in most districts and some heavy falls, especially in the South Island and the Cook Strait area; temperatures becoming cooler; an improvement, however, gradually following the southerly change.
