BURN CUP MATCH WANGANUI CHALLENGE ST. JOHN’S RETAIN TROPHY A rink from the Wanganui Club visited the St. John's green yesterday and played a challenge match for the Hurn Cup. The visitors started well, scoring 1-2-2, wh ch was replied to by 1-1-3 by St. John's. The teams again tied 8 all on the 10th head, the visitors then scoring 3-1 to lead 12 to 8. St. John’s notched two singles, Wanganui obtaining a single and putting them on 13 to their opponents' 10. From then onwards, however, principally owing to a longer length suiting the holders, the challengers failed to score and the game ended in favour of St. John's, 21 to 13.
