DIVER’S ESCAPE
UNUSVAL INCIDENT AIR-PI PE JOINT BREAKS ( Per Frews Association. ) AUCKLAND, Nov. 24. An unusual incident; occurred at the Calliope Dock when a diver, William McKean, was giving a demonstration. He was 18 feet under water when the air pipe came apart at. a joint, hut he was quickly dragged to the surface by the men above. McKean did not even know the air pipe was parted, although he realised he was not getting enough air. The naval base was open to visitors as part of the Davonnort Borough Jubilee celebrations.
