POCKIORI On November 18, members of the Poukiori Women's Institute met at he hall. The chair was taken by Mrs S. McAUey, who welcomed Mrs Ginnane, of Mangaweka, V.O. for this part of the Wanganui Federation. A small amount of busirfess was dealt with. It was decided that no meeting be held in December. The next meeting will take place on January 20. at 1.45 p.m. Mrs Ginnane read and explained the W.l. rules and gave much helpful advice. She also demonstrated the making of Christmas novelties and eggshell mosaic, and at the conclusion she was presented with a shoulder spray. Competition results: Bowl of roses, Mrs A. Coleman 1, Miss K. Dalziell 2, Mrs A. McAUey 3. Bowl of poppies. Mrs A. McAUey 1, Miss Coleman 2, Mrs S. McAUey 3. Protliest petticoat, Mrs McDonell 1, D. McDonnell 2, Miss E. Dalziell 3. Competitions for January: Best collection oi flowers, not more than 12 varieties; best made child's pinafore, any cotton material, not hand-worked. A demonstration will be given by Mrs Walker. The hostesses were Mrs R. Dalziell md Miss Ouillinan.
