i -tiki: meeting Airs Dellow presided al. lhe usual monthly meeting held on November 17. The afternoon, opened with the Ode to Friendship. • After this Airs P. B. Luxford read a very interesting report on proceedings at the council meeting held in Taihape on November 3. Airs Dellow expressed her thanks to the reader for her excellent report and to all those members who had assisted to bring about the success of the council meet- | ing. The work of catering for the visitors on that day, although an arduous one, had been simplified by the willing co-operation of the members. She thanked those who had supplied the floral decorations, with which Miss Al. Belke had so artistically adorned the stage, and those < who had supplied the beautiful bouquets. Mrs de Lautour expressed her gratified opinion as to the manner in which business had been so capably > executed by the members under lhe | capable guidance of Airs Dellow and Mrs G. M. Transom. A very interesting portion of the day’s programme was an address delivered on Hongkong. The Rev. Air Watkins, of Mangawcka had, as chaplain of St. Peter’s Church, worked as a missionary for three years there, and his address was rendered in a

vivid and arresting manner. Much amusement was caused by a “mannequin” parade, which arose as a result of last month's competition, the best frock costing not more than ss. lhe voting showed:—Seniors: Miss M. Belk 1, Airs P. Becker 2. Juniors: Miss Winnie Dellow 1 Aliss Dulcie Gibbs 2. The competition for next month is “The best ‘iced’ Christmas cake, or a sixpenny parcel (best value of contents). The hostesses will be Mesdames Kendall. W. R. Anderson, Piper, and Miss M. Gibbs. Al’cmbors who are desirous of entering for the potato competition, and who have not yet obtained their “seed” are requested to get in touch with Airs Kendall. Airs W. Prime, who was in charge of the health stamps, did excellent business among the members. A delicious afternoon tea was served, and lhe singing of lhe National Anthem concluded a happy and instructive afternoon.
