THE MAT GAME

CROWD’S DISAPPROVAL VERDICT FOR McCREADY. BOUT WITH JOE SAVOLDI. [Per Press Association] WELLINGTON, Nov. 23. Partisans of the losing wrestler hooted disapproval when the referee awarded Earl McCready a points win over Joe Savoldi at the Town Hall tonight. The bout lacked fire. There was no fall until in the sixth round McCready dumped Savoldi three times vigorously and then pinned him. Then, within a few seconds Savoldi in turn took a fall, knocking his big opponent over with drop-kicks. The last round was without a fall. General surprise was expressed when the referee raised McCready's arm and gave him the match.
