HEAVY PASSENGER LIST

AORANGI AT AUCKLAND [ Per Press Association. ] AUCKLAND, Nov. 23. Partly as a result of the strike on the Pacific coast, which has delayed the sailing of liners from Los Angeles, the Aorangi had an unusually large complement on her arrival from Vancouver. There were 468 passengers on board, including 238 landing at Auckland. A number of passengers who had intended to leave Los Angeles by the Mariposa travelled north in time to catch the Aorangi. The strike has not affected Canada, and the opinion was expressed by the passengers on the Aorangi that It would not do so. The Canadian Trade Commissioner in Australia, Colonel Cosgrove, said there was a very good understanding at present between the longshoremen and shipping companies on the Canadian coast and when he left there was no indication of trouble. The Aorangi was a day late in leaving Vancouver, as she had to wait for mails which were delayed a day crossing the Atlantic as a result of the stormy weather.
