A message from Pinehurst, North I Carolina, says that Densmore Shute, aged 32, professional of Braeburn Club, Massachusetts, defeated Jimmy Thompson 3 and 2 in a 36-hole round to win the National Professional Golfers’ Association title. Among other competitors was Horton Smith. Shute’s fine tee shots, skilful iron shots and 30-foot putts enabled him to win handily.
