RULE CLUB EVENING On Friday evening the local rifle club held a card evening, there being a fair attendance of the local public. The cards were won by Mrs. H. Ellery, Miss N. Frecklington, Mr. J. Wightman, and Mr. N. Leet. After supper had been served Mr. K. Bailey, president of the rifle club, thanked all for their attendance and said that he hoped that next season there would be many more new members in the club. Mr. Bailey then called on Mrs. Baley to present the cups and trophies won during the season. The A grade (Grace Simpson Cup) was won by Mr. W. Robinson; B grade (Noel Harris Cup) won by Mr. .J. Frecklington. C grade (Erma Ellery Cup) won by Mr. J. Wightman; B grade, runner-up (C. Klatt’s Cup) won by Mr. Des. Ellery. Mr. M. Klatt's trophy, won by Mrs. S. Quinlan. Esme Simpson Cup won by Miss Edna Simpson; runner-up (Miss I. Ellery's trophy), won by Mrs. G. Richardson. PERSONAL Mr. A. M. Thomas and Mr. J. Gilchrist were Utiku visitors to the district for the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Hazeldine-Barber (nee Rana Frecklington) motored through from Ngatea, Hauraki Plains, last week, and spent a few days with their parents and relatives.
