UNION BOAT CLUB SPRINT FOURS RESULTS CREWS FOR REGATTA RACES Excellent racing favoured the large crowd of spectators who watched the Union Boat Club sprint fours on Saturday afternoon, and close finishes were the order of the day. The final was a'particularly fine race and in a slashing finish half a canvas separated the three boats. First Round. E. Day beat G. Delves and H. O’Donnell. H. Benge beat R. Gould. WANGANUI CLUB WRAY EIGHTS RESULTS BOXING DAY CREWS The Wray Eights' competition was rowed by the Wanganui Rowing Club members on Saturday under excellent weather and water conditions, the course being over a mile. The first heat, between Robertshaw (str.) and Foster (str.), resulted in a win for Robertshaw by a length. Robertshaw led all the way. The second heat, between McCann and Edwards, resulted in an easy win for McCann, who took the lead at the start and increased the margin to over a length at the finish. The final between McCann and Robertshaw resulted in a win for McCann by over a length. Both crews got away to a good start, and McCann showed up early in the race, being in the lead by half a length al the bridge. His crew were rowing well together, and gradually drew away from Robertshaw to pass the judge with an advantage of over a length. The crews were:— McCann (str.), T. Christian, J. J. ARAMOHO BOATING CLUB COXON WINS TESLA FOURS CONSOLATION TO HALLIGAN The popularity of Saturday afternoon racing for oarsmen was proved once again by the large crowd which gathered at the Aramoho Boating Club’s club-house on Saturday for the final races in the Tesla Fours and the

Consolation Fours. Afternoon tea was provided for rowers and spectators in the social hall by a committee consisting of Mesdames Fothergill, Bene' field, Plunket and Brougham.
