SATURDAY’S PLAY FIRST GRADE MATCHES GOOD CRICKETING WEATHER First grade cricket matches were resumed in Wanganui on Saturday in good cricketing weather. Wickets were decidedly faster, but outfields still on the heavy side. Matches resulted as follows: United made 136 in the first innings against Collegeiate School, batting one man short. At close of the day’s play, School had lost seven wickets for 88 runs. Technical College made 138 in the first innings against Marist. When play ceased Marist had 185 on the board and declared the innings closed with nine w.ckets down. Wanganui’s first inning’s score against Technical College Old Boys was 150.
