CANVASSER’S OFFENCE
SENTENCED TO GAOL [Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 18. John Anthony Crawford, aged 47, canvasser, was charged at the Magistrate's Court with obtaining money by false pretences. With 48 previous convictions, he was sentenced to four months’ gaol on one charge and a month on each of the other three, the terms being cumulative.
