BULLS

GOLF JOTTINGS To-day members of the Rangitikei 'Ladies’ Golf Club will hold an all-day •tournament, commencing at 10 a.m. with a “sealed partner" competition, and holding senior and .junior approaching and putting competitions in the afternoon. On Saturday last the men played a stroke competition, and the best cards handed in were as follow: -

This week the tinal of the junior club championship was played between T. R. Willis and F. S. Collier, and resulted in a remarkable game. Play started in fine weather, and Willis played steadily, while Collier could do nothing right, and at the end of morning play (18 holes) Willis was 6 up. Heavy rain fell during the lunch adjournment, and in the afternoon session Collier steadily made up leeway, Willis suffering a lapse, and by winning the 29th collier took the lead, 1 up. The 30th was halved, but Willis squared the game by taking the 31st. The next was halved, but Willis won “Eureka” and “The Drop.” and the 35th was halved, leaving Willis the winner, 2 up and 1 to play. GENERAL NEWS This evening the Parewanui School Committee will run a dance and euchre party in Bulls Town Hall and supper room, in aid of school funds. Godson’s Aces will supply the music, and the supper arrangements will be of a high order. Reasonable charges are being made for the dance and for cards, and free buses will run from Marton and Palmerston North. Patrons are assured of a first-class evening's entertainment. This evening Bulls M.R. Club, holders of the McKelvie Cup .will be required to take the trophy to Feilding for competition, and if successful in winning, they will travel to Ohakea on Friday. Such conditions make the holding of the cup a drawback and an expense, instead of being an asset to a successful club.
