With rounds of 80 and 7t Miss Oliver Kay and Mrs. Fullerton-Smith won the women’s Australian gull championship foursomes. There was a slight wind, otherwise conditions were ideal. Mrs. Fullerton-Smith and Miss Kay were sound and consistent in the morning and shot par figures for the first eight holes. Both played an excellent. long game, A three was wanted for a 79, Mrs. FullertonSmith lipping the cup. They were out in 39 and home in 41. Miss McLeod and Mrs. Russell were one behind in the first round. They were steady throughout. MissHelean and Miss Gardiner look 47 out but. had a brilliant home run of 36—the best for the day. Miss Fleming and Miss Horwell went round in 83. They were inclined to stray with long seconds and took three putts on three greens. In the afternoon Miss Kay and Mrs, Fullerton-Smith dropped a stroke at the third and recovered it at the sixth. They were out in a bogey 38 and home in 31. The pair had a chance of a 75, Mrs. Fullerton-Smith’s long putt hitting (he cup for a 3 and stopping two feet away. Miss Kay missed the return.
