WRESTLING The Ore Ore Wrestling School paid a visit to the Raetilv Club and indulged in friendly bouts xvith the members, the result being in favour of Raetihi. Mr D. F. Scarrow xvas I referee and his decisions gave every satisfaction. Messrs A. Head. Albert Scarroxv, and T. Benn'■ft rendered valuable assistance. At the conclu- ; sion of the wrestling an adjournment ! xvas made to Hay and Maxwell’s, where a dainty supper was much enI joyed. I Mr A. Cunningham, secretary of the [ Raetihi Club, thanked the visitors for | their attendance. Mr Albert Scarrow I replied on behalf of the Ore Ore Club. I Mr D. Mac Lean expressed satisfaction at the progress made by the boys 1 and the high standard of wrestling attained by both clubs. ■ The results are as follow: | B. Kerley (Ore Ore) lost to J. O’Neill by two falls. A. Laird (Ore Ore) lost to G. Peterson. txvo falls. A. Mac Lean (Ore Ore) beat F. McDonnell by one fall. | P. Haddock lost to J. O’Neill, two falls. J. Gudsell (Ore Ore) lost to A. Wade by two falls. G. Wade drew xvith H. Ward, one fall each. J. Sommerville (Ore Ore) lost to W. Hussey, txvo falls. E. Dauphin lost to Albert Scarrow on points. Partridge (Ore Ore) drew xvith H. Dobson, no falls. A. Wade drexv xvith B. Russell, no falls. McGrath drew xvith G. Dauphin, one fall each. L. Lynn beat R. Mabbott by txvo falls. GENERAL At the meeting of the Raetihi School Committee the headmaster. Mr A. Laing, reported that as the result of the transference of a relieving teacher arrangements had to be made xvith regard to altering the teaching of the classes. He xvas endeavouring to give each teacher about 50 pupils. The Raetihi School Committee has arranged for the celebration of Arbor Day on Wednesday, September 9.
