Mrs. Moore, of Palmerston North, is the guest of Mrs. J. B. Davis, “Alresford," Westmere. Mrs. J. Siddells has gone on a holiday visit, to Hawke's Bay. Mrs. K. Millward, New Plymouth, is paying a brief visit to Wanganui. Mrs. D. A. Lilburne, Wanganui East, has returned after spending several weeks in Dunedin. • - * * * Mrs. Cheviot Bell, Wellington, was in Wanganui during the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Scott are Auckland visitors to Wanganui. Mrs. T. 11. Tinney, GonviiJe, will return by the Wanganella Irom Sydney. ...» Miss Mary Doolan came up from Wellington at the week-end to spend a holiday with her parents, Mr. an I Mrs. Dooian, Gonville. Miss S. Gannon arrived from Eltham on Saturday on a holiday visit to Wanganui. Mrs. A. J. Nicholls and Miss L. M. Nicholls, Wellington, were week-end visitors to Wanganui. Mrs. Gray Young and Miss Gray Young, of Wellington, spent the week-end in Wanganui as the guests of Miss B. C. Taylor, Campbell Street. Mr. and Mrs. F. Whiteman. Wanganui East, who have been spending a holiday at Mt. Eden, Auckland, have returned home. Mrs. T. E. Lovegrovc, Grey Street, and Miss Nellie Gamman, who have been visiting To Awamutu for the Butler —Lovegrove wedding, have gone on to Auckland for a few days before returning to Wanganui. There was a happy reunion at Lithgow, N.S.W., when Mrs. M. E. Johns greeted her sister, Mrs. A. Sutton, of Otahuhu (N.Z.). on her arrival there. They had not seen each other for 40 years. Both were born in Victoria, and Mrs. Sutton came to New Zealand 30 years ago. The marriage of Lord Waleran and Miss Betty Emsley Carr, younger daughter of Sir Emsley and Lad;. Carr, will take place at Walton-on-Ihe-Hill, London, on September If. Lord Waleran was formerly on the staff of Sir Charles Fergusson, then Governor-General of New Zealand, and he has many friends in the Dominion.
