! METHODIST CHURCH SOCIAL Recently a pleasant social function evening was held by the Sandon Methodist Church Ladies’ Guild in the supper room of the Town Hall. The function was organised for the purpose of raising the amount rei quireu to pay for the recent alteraI lions to the church lighting. The proceeds produced approximately half of the amount required. The evening was spent in games and competitions, interspersed with musical items. A bring and buy stall increased the proceeds. The young people were responsible for arranging the programme. Items were contributed by.—Mrs. A. Eyles, Rev. R. E. Fordyce, Misses N. and J. Masters. The accompanistes were: Mesdames W. E. ’Pearce, A. Eyles and R. E. Fordyce, and Miss Jean Masters, the I two former ladies also playing the I music for community singing. A most ! enjoyable supper was served, after which the president of the Ladies’ i Guild, Mrs. R. E. Fordyce thanked ! those who had assisted in making the I evening such a pleasant one. RESULT OF WEEKLY SHOOT The sixteenth weekly shoot of the ’ Sanson Miniature Rifle Club was held on Monday evening when there was a good attendance of members. The standard of shooting dropped, no single possibles being recorded. The Jenkins Buttons for the night's shoot were won as follows: —A Grade, Keith Lumsden; B grade, R. Meyer; C grade, Miss Lumsden.
