SPANISH FLEET ATTACKED BOMBING ’PLANES BEATEN OFF A SPECTACULAR SCENE IBy Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright] Received July 23, 8.40 p.m, GIBRALTAR, July 23. Another attack on the Spanish fleet was made this evening when four large areoplanes from Ceuta dropped bombs around the Cervantes, Libertad, Jaime and Primeiro. A large crowd stood and watched an unprecedented battle in Gibraltar Bay. Considering the terrific fire from the warships’ anti-aircraft guns, the bombing was very accurate, but was ineffective. The aircraft returned to Ceuta safely.
