MAXWELL CLUB ONE-DAY TOURNAMENT. ENJOYABLE DAY'S PLAY. On Thursday last one-day tournament was held by the Maxwell Goll Club. The links wera in first-class order, and the 56 players from Belmont, Airport and Makirikiri Clubs had an enjoyable day’s outing. Following are the results:—

Brown 1 down WANGANUI CLUB SATURDAY’S FLAG MATCH. STROKE MATCH PLAYED. A flag match was played in two divisions by the Wanganui Golf Club at Belmont on Saturday. In the A Grade division H. G. Carver was the first player to carry the

flag past the 18th gre-n However, in spite of the fact tna:. he had five strokes in hand at the 19th. tee he could do no better :han reach rhe green. P. Saunders with four strokes in hand just managed io sink his putt to carry the flag to tne hole at the 19th. Here the flag stayed until the last two A Grade players were finishing. E. H. Lange arrived at the J9th. tee with seven strokes in hand and carried the flag to within -oyds. of the 20th. green, where it remained. In the B Grade H. H. Christie brought the flag to the 18th. hole, from which C. W. Horne, with two strokes in hand carried it down the 19th. fairway. The flag remained there untl the last two B Grade players to finish picked it up, E. R. Dix eventually carrying on to the 19th. green.
