MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING. A match for the AlcKelvie Cup was fired at Bulls on Friday night between Bulls (holders) and Feilding clubs, Bulls retaining the trophy with the splendid total of 1090, Feilding only putting on 1063, and being defeated by the good margin of 27 points. For the winners, double possibles were scored by L. Anderson and N. Amon. L. Huddleston also shot well, with a brace of 69’s, and R. McKenzie’s 138 included a single possible. Feilding’s score d.id not contain a possible, but the visitors (after being 24 down on the first range) shot up well at their second attempt, improving from 521. to 542. a really good score for a new club. The Bulls club, having defended the trophy successfully three times this season, i will have, to travel next time, taking the trophy to the challengers’ range.

Totals 521-542-1063 SUDDEN DEATH. A. well known local resident, Robert Livingstone .Henderson, aged 60 years, dropped dead shortly before noon on Saturday. At. the time he was assisting the. Town Board’s foreman, Air. Stan. Howard, to load wood on the Domain, and while lifting a log, collapsed and expired immediately. Constable Ede was promptly on the scene, and removed the body to an hotel. Deceased leaves a widow and one young daughter, and by a former marriage there are two daughters, Alesdames A. Moon and JET. O’Grady, of Auckland, and three sons. Cecil, of Hamilton, and Downic and James, both of Bulls. An inquest was held in Bulls on Sunday morning, the district coroner. Air. F. C. Wilson, presiding. Evidence was given by a relative regarding identification; by Afr. S. Howard, foreman of the Town Board; and by Dr. Russell Chisholm, who performed the postmortem. The verdict was in. accordance with the medical testimony: “That (’ *ath was caused through coronary blockage.” (The coronary vessels convey blood to the substance of the heart). A PIONEER’S PASSING. Death called another pioneer of Rangitikei yesterday morning, when Mrs. Bailey, relict of the late Air. J. A. Bailey, of Ohakea, passed away. Interment will take place at Sanson tomorrow (Tuesday), the funeral leaving Ohakea at 2 p.m. R.S.A. BALL. Great interest is being taken in the Bulls Returned Soldiers’ annual ball, which will be held in the Town Hall, Bulls, to-morrow (Tuesday) evening. Mr. Frank Crowther’s popular Wellington orchestra will provide the latest and brightest of music, and the supper arrangements are on a livish scale. Patrons are expected from all parts, and the function promises to be a great attraction for dancers. ON THE RANGE. Afembers of the Rangitikei Defence Rille Club fired in cold, windy weather on Saturday afternoon, A. Stevenson topping the score with a fine 101. Full scores are as follows: —
