SPORTS AND PASTIMES This afternoon a Stableford bo„<y competition will be played on th" Rangitikei Golf Links. Bulls Rugby juniors to play Hal combe juniors at Halcombe to-day will be selected from the following:—J. Cole, J. Cartby, T. Campbell, R. Stantiall, R. Ellery, »S. Harford, P. Bending, V. Goodall, J. Langdon, Williams, Cameron, Hart. Henderson, de Burgh, Ron Ellery, McKinnon. McKenzie. On Wednesday afternoon a basketball match played here between present and past pupils of Bulls School, the past team being supplemented by several present-day players. Past w<'«i by 12 goals (D. Shilton 7, Min. Kearney 2, and P. Wicks 3), to II goals (JSmith 8, 15. Mackay 1, and Z. Neale 2>. Miss Button refereed. Two Ifctally-trained horses, Vane and Diatomous. will be amongst the runners at the Wanganui Juckev Club’s meeting to-day, and as both have been acquitting themselves promisingly on the Bulls tracks, they may be expected to run well forward. Local Rugby enthusiasts will be pleased to hear that the, senior subunion match, Rangitikei v. Oroua. will bo plaved at Bulls, probably towards the end of July. Having no senior fifteen in Bulls, and junior games being irregular owing to a bye iu the competition, very little Rugby has been seen here this year, and the representative match will cause a good deal of Interest.
