FLOODING FEARED
INDICATIONS IN WAIRARAPA WATER OVER MAIN ROAD SLIPS ON RIMUTAKAS [ Per Tress Association. ] MASTERTON, June 16. Heavy and continuous rain since tire early hours of the morning is causing some appreiiension of floods. At 8 o'clock to-night water was just beginning to flow over the main highway near the Waiohine Bridge on the Mattert on-Wellington road, while two rather large slips are reported on the Featherston side of the Rimutaka road which is passable for one-way traffic. There is also a washout to the edge of the bitumen for a distance of about 12 feet in the same vicinity. The Whareama River at Tinui is reported to be running very high and otlrer streams on the East Coast are in heavy flood.
