A decision to launch a national cam* paign for subscriptions from women for presentation of a portrait of Queen Mary to the National Art Gallery, was made by a large meeting of women toThe Mayoress of Wellington, Mrs. T. C. A. Hislop presided. She said it was proposed that a shilling subscription fund bo opened and it was decided that the mayoresses of other cities and towns be invited to co-operate and Viscountess Galway be invited to accept the office of patron.
