GARAGE MURDERER SYDNEY', June 15. James Massey was hanged at Long Bay goal at 8.30 a.m. to-day. Massey left a statement for publication expressing deep regret for the pain, dishonour and sorrow he had brought his wife, father and mother and the terrible bereavement in the faniilv of the man he had murdered. He added: “I pray that my desperate position, which is poor reparation, may prove a warning to the youth of my age not to neglect those things that lount for Christian life and conduct.’' Jam*s Leighton Massey, aged 21, •vas found guilty of shooting and killng Norman Stead after attempting to rob a service station at.
