ROYAL SHOW SOCIETY
CANTERBURY SUGGESTION 1 Per Press Association ] HASTINGS, June 12. The opinion that the Koya! A. and F. Society has not power to adopt the Canterbury suggestion to fix only two permanent venues for the Royal Shows, and in any case would nut be willing to do so. was expressed by -peakers at a meeting of the Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Society. Mr J. 11. Mac Niven, chairman, said that the suggestion came from Christchurch only, and he did no 4 think that it would get anv further. In his opinion the Royal Society itself would not agree. When the Royal Shows were started they were meant io go round, and if the system was altned it would mean the end of the Rc-va! Society. The change must come from ihe Roval Society, which he believed would not dare to adopt it.
