September s.—Bogey four-ball best ball; 12th, flag competition and final stroke competition; 19th, Stapleford bogey competition; 26th, mixed foursomes. Alateh with Levin to be arranged. RANGITIKEI GOLF CLUB. The best cards returned in Saturday’s four-ball, best ball bogey competition were as follow: —R. (J. Dalrymple and G. Young, 2 up; F. S. Collier and W. Aiken, 1 up; ,1. G. AlitcheH and J. S. Tricker, 1 down. A team will visit Feiiding on Saturday next. RANGITIKEI LADIES’ GOLF CLUB. The L.G.U. home Jinks Coronation medal and Aotea Roa cup competitions will be played at Bulls to-day, OLD SCOUTS’ REUNION. About forty members of the Bulls Troop attended the ninth annual reunion dinner, held in Uufton Hall, Bulls, on Saturday evening. Miss Nancy Wilson, ex-Scoutmistress, was in the chair, and welcomed members, stating that the troop was formed 20 years •igo, and the fact that so many found it possible to attend showed luat they still displayed interest in the old associations made and friendships formed. Aliss Wilson referred to the death of King George, and mentioned that the present King was the, first bovereigu to wear a {Scout’s uniform, and to be actually associated with the movement. As Prince of Wales he had inspected the troop at Marton, and had shaken hands with several members. This year the dinner had been prepared entirely by old IScouts, and thanks vrerc due to Messrs. F. Cults, junr., A. Kemp, L. Ransom, AL K. Marshall aud K. Kewp for the excellent manner in which they had worked to make the function a success. The election of officers resulted as follows: —Presid'ent, Aliss N. Wilson; vice-presidents, Alcssrs. U. W. Wcreta and G. W. King; lion, secretary, Mr. M. R. Alanscll; hon. treasurer, Air. F. Cults, junr.; committee, Alessrs. A. and R. Kemp, L. Ransom, C. Anderson, P. Rwlfe, D. Brooki-e, R. Ingram, J. Homes and J. Prichard. In future reunions will be held on the last .1 riday in Alay each year. Votes of thanks were accorded to the secretary and treasurer. tENERAL NEWS. Mr. Rog. AJontgomeiy was conveyed by ambulance to Wangauui Hospital on Sunday morning, and that day underwent an operation for appendicitis. At a few minutes after 3 a.m. on Sundav many local residents were awakened by a slight, shock of earthquake, which, was followed by a gent be rocking sensation, terminating in hall a minute with a sharp jolt. Ihe direction appeared to be from north-east to South-west. No damage is reported here.
