HERRIOT DECLINES OFFER FRENCH ROYALIST GAOLED. INCITEMENT TO MURDER. PARIS, May 23. M. Herriot has declined M. Blum’s invitation to take the Foreign Secretaryship. Maurras, the Royalist leader, was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment and fined 200 francs for inciting the murder of M. Blum in recent articles in the Action Franeaise. declaring that if M. Blum’s policy led to war Frenchmen should use carving knives to eliminate him and his followers.
