RIOTING STRIKERS

Thirty are reported killed, including two wuiueii, and over a hundred wounded in street fighting following the extension of a strike of 25/JOU tobacco workers throughout Macedonia. Railway and tramway workers and others are sympathetically involved be cause the Government called the railwaymen to the colours in order to maintain communications. The strikers barricaded lhe streets and Hew the red flag. The police tried io disperse the mob by tiring revolvers but tee rioters speedily reassembled and attacked the police with stones and cafe chairs. The Government declared martial Jaw and dispatched troops, tanks, and armoured cars, which charged the barricades. Six were killed in attempting to rush an armoured car, which opened lire. A three-hour battle ended with the rout of the strikers. Artillery, machine-guns, and infantry are now posted in the streets. The trouble began on Friday when the strikers clashed with the police Seventy were injured.
