WEDDING

CHADWICK—HARRIS. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Stephen’s Church, Marton, on Wednesday, April 29, of Josephine Marie, elder daughter of Air. and Mrs. J. G. Harris, “ Patikipapa, ” Marton, to j Frederick Edward, son of Mrs. ChadI wick, Paraparaumu and the late Dr. Chadwick, Eketahuna. The ceremony was performed by Rev. W. Raine. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a gaceful frock of ivory need'.eiun jre ri; o' classical lines with square neck, Bishop sleeves and a long sweeping train. Her veil, which was worn over the face on entering the church, was encircled with orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of white chrysanthemums, freesias and maiden-hair fern. Her ornaments w’ere a pearl necklace (the gift of the bridegroom) and an old silver filigre brooch, the gift of the bridegroom’s mother. The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Misses Margaret Har- | ris (sister of the bride) chief, and Jean I Turnbull. Wellington. They were dresed alike in frocks of ivory needleI run lace, cut on the same lines as that of the bride. They wore haloes of powder blue plaited velvet and wide sashes of the same material falling to the end of their trains. They carried bouquets of white , chrysanthemums, freesias, blue delphiniums and maidenhair fern. Their ornaments Tvcre a diamante clasp, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by Messrs. Kelvin Groves (Eketahuna), as best man. and Keg Harris (brother of the bride) as groomsman. The ushers were Messrs. The church had been beautifully decorated in pink, and white by girl friends of the bride. In the evening the guests were entertained at a most enjoyable dance. At the reception, which was held in St. Stephen’s Parish Hall, the bride’s mother wore a frock of black georgette and lace with black peach bloom hat. She carried a posy of pink carnations and maiden-hair fern. The bridegroom’s mother wore a frock of black sprigged marocain with black velour hat and coat. She carried a posy of pink-shaded phlox and autumn leaves. Later, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Chadwick left by car on a tour of the North, the latter wearing a powder-blue woollen suit with blouse to tone; a navy velvet hat and navy accessories. Their future home will be at Bunnythorpe.
