MAJESTIC THEATRE

“AH! WILDERNESS." Teaming two of the greatest figures on the screen to-day in a story that is literally a great drama and a cross-sec-tion of average life in a nation, “Ah! AVilderness! ” Eugene O’Neill’s great drama of family life, adolescent love, and the march of the years, screens at the Majestic Theatre finally tonight. Wallace Beery, fresh from triumphs in “ China Seas,’ ’“ O ’Shaughnessy’s Boy,” and other hits, stars as Uncle Sid, the lovable, ineffectual inebriate, one of O’Neill’s most human characters with Lionel Barrymore as the father, Na Miller, the role played on the stage by George M. Cohan and the late Will Rogers. “The Lone Wolf Beturns.’’ I*ll6 romantic adventures of an international jewel thief turned honest from the plot of “The Lone AVolf Returns,” Louis Joseph A’ance’s famous novel, the latest screen version of which, screening to-morrow at the Majestic Theatre, makes a picture apart from the ordinary. The suave and handsome Melvyn Douglas plays the part of the gentleman cracksman, Michael Lanyard, alias the Lone Wolf, the very mention of whose name is enough to spoil the sleep of the detective chiefs of the world’s capitals. Specialising in the theft of jewels, the Lone Wolf succeeds in lifting a priceless pendant from the home of a wealthy New York society girl, played by the beautiful Gail Patrick, but when he sees the girl and talks with her a miraculous desire to be honest overcomes him, and his future actions are shaped accordingly. The thrills of the film are about evenly balanced by abundant humour, supplied by two semi-comic detectives and a supcr-serious manservant.
