LATE EARL BEATTY
TRIBUTES IN COMMONS [ British Official Wireless. ] RUGBY', May 5. Tributes were paid to the late Admiral of the Fleet, Earl Beatty, by the Primo Minister, Mr Stanley Baldwin, ■and the Leaders of the Labour and Liberal Oppositions in the House of 'Commons to-day when a resolution was unanimously approved in favour of an address to the King asking for the erection of a memorial as a public ■charge. Speaking of a similar resolution passed a few months ago in memory of Lord Jellicoe, Mr Baldwin said that today they sought not to aompare or to measure but merely to exr.-ess the>r thankfulness that, at the time of the country’s need, two such men as Jellicoe and Beatty were there to respond •to the call.
