Old boys were welcomed by the principal, Mr. I. E. Newton, after which there followed keen discussion on the aims and objects of the association. As a result, a tentative constitution was adopted in accordance with which the. following o"icers were elected: Patron, Mr. I. E. Newton; president, Mr. L. I. B. Gilberd; vice-presidents, Messrs. Ward and Sewell: secretary treasurer. Mr. G. A. Thompson; hon. auditor, Air. F, E. Smith; executive committee, Messrs. Dyke, Durie, Smith, Briscoe. Whyte and Tizard. It is the intention of the association to foster the formation of groups among members interested in sporting, social or cultural activities, such as badminton, table tennis, free discussion, dramatics, St. John Ambulance Corps, and any other activity for which there is a sufficient demand. Tn this connection it is interesting to note that the principal has indicated that the many facilities which the school has to offer by way of halls, rooms, grounds, etc., can be placed at the disposal of the old boys.. The formation of the association has already received the support of many enthusiastic members and it is hoped that an active and permanent institution will b n the onteftne of last niglit's meeting.
