CROQUET CLOSING
ST. JAMES’ CLUB I The closing for the season of St. Janies’ Croquet Club, Wanganui Last, took place on Tuesday afternoon, when, the favourable weather made the playing of the competitions most enjoyable. Mr. King, speaking for the club, thanked sister clubs for their attendance, which had made the closing day a very pleasant function. A muchappreciated afternoon tea was served. The following were successful in the competitions: Crazy hoops, Mrs Walker: skittles, Mrs. Svenson; clock. Mrs. Uttley. Mrs. Walker won the cake competition. Among those present were:—Mesdames Stowers. Snelling, McChesney, Aitken, Uttley/ Roar, Svenson, Currin, Redpatb, Noble, Bradshaw, Taylor, Downey, Perry, Bamford, Carter, Williamson, Walker, Gilbertson, Bamber, Drummond, Hammond. King, Hicks, Misses Bridge, Aslin, Marshall.
