WANGANUI ASSOCIATION SHIELD COMPETITION TEAMS FOR TO-MORROW The final matches in the first round of the Wanganui Football Association Senior Association Shield competition, to be played to-morrow, should arouse considerable interest amongst followers ot the code. With the approaching visit of the Australian team players will be anxious to show their best form for the selectors’ benefit. The major game, between Eastbrooke and Thistle, should produce first-class football as neither team has been beaten this season, and, both sets of forwards know how to shoot. The game on No. 2 ground between Athletic and Rangers will probably result in a very determined effort by each team to collect its first win. In the junior grade Athletic v. Rangers will probably be the keenest match, but Aramoho and Technical are also evenly matched. Tech. Old Boys have not yet fielded a full team, so Marist may have things their own way. Matches and referees for to-morrow are:— On Victoria Park 1.45. —Juniors: Athletic v. Rangers on No. 1 ground; referee, Mr. V. Clapham. Aramoho v. Technical on No. 2 ground; referee, Mr. G.
