BOAR GOES BERSERK

MAN, HORSES AND BULL SUFFER [ Per Preus Association. ] NEW PLYMOUTH, May 5. A man, three horses, and a bull were the victims of a large Tamworth boar which went berserk on a farm near New Plymouth at the week-end. Mr William Bird, aged 72, suffered a severe gash in a leg that required hospital attention, and two horses were seriously injured, one by a gash in the stomach. The bull was gashed across the hindquarters. Mr Bird was in grave danger when the boar upset him, and he was rescued by his two companions. The boar, a large Tamworth, was finally killed, but onlv after nine shots had been used.
