During the period in w’hich temporary hehitn camps were held at Turakina un u vr the capable supervision of Dr. ElizabeU Gunn over 2O‘JU children received treatment with wonderful success. It is due to the success obtained by Dr. Gunn al these camps that the Government has given its hearty approval of the scheme and has recently conducttfu a Health Stamp Campaign as a result of which over £IU,(K)U was raised in the Dominion. AVanganui has received X33u 15s Id as its share of this fund and the money is to be used to defray the costs of those children who are admitted to the camp but whose parents are unable to contribute towards their support. The Alayor has called a public meeting of citizens to be held at the City Council Chambers to-morrow night at 8 p.m., when .speakers will explain thio aims and objects of the Health Camp Appeal for £lOOO which is to bo launched at an early date. It js hoped that a representative attendance will be present at this meeting and that an energetic local com niittee will be appointed to organise the appeal.
