The cricket season row concluded, the averages for representative games, show that T. C, Lowry heads the batting list, with an average of 48, due ch icily to his 71 not out against Manawatu. AV. Spence, also of Taihape, is second, then there is a drop of 12 to M. AVysoeki with an average of 19.6. AVysocki was the only member to score over h ) runs, although D. A. Cameron scored 99. BARTON The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, Rev. H. IlBarton, M.A., and Mrs. Barton paid a visit to Marton on Tuesday iu the course of a tour of New Zealand. On Tuesday morning they were accorded a welcome in St. Andrew’s Church under the auspices of the Presbyterian Association, and a very inspiring devotional service was held. An adjournment was made to the Maori Girls’ College, where a large number of visitors were entertained at lunch, after which addresses of welcome were given.
