RAETIHI SALE The Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Incorporated in England), report another capacity yarding at Raetihi on Thursday. An 'entry of about 7000 sheep and lambs came forward and the demand for ewes proved surprisingly good. It was anticipated that prices would be lower than at the fair held a fortnight ago, but taking quality into consideration ewe prices were quite equal to the last sale. Poorer sorts showed an improvement in price. Best 2-tooth ewes were perhaps a shade easier considering the quality of the offering. Smaller sorts sold well and ewe lambs again sold splendidly, up to 235. being realised. Good white-facd wether lambs sold up to 16s 6d. Medium wether lambs were, if anything, a shade easier than last sale. Right throughout bidding was spirited, and almost a total clearance was affected at auction.
Some of the prices realized were as follows: 2-th. ewes 345: 4-year ewes, 27s 3d; 6-th. ewes, 31s 7d; 5-year ewes, 23s to *26* Id; ewe lambs, 22s 9d and 235: wether lambs, 16s to 16s 6d; medium do., 14s 6d to 15s 6d; medium 2-th. wethels, 225; cull ewe lambs, 14* Id to 17s 7d; cull wether lambs, 9s Gd j.Os 4-t-h.
