DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB The final shoot for the Watson Challenge Cup was fired over ranges of 500 and. 600 yards during the week-end. Keen interest has been taken in this competition all through the series as ’ only a few points separated more than ; half of the competitors. The final re- . suit was a win for Rifleman S. Dickin- ' son, whoso score of 259 was one point i ahead of that of L. Afahoney, who took second place. Nominations to hand for the forthcoming meeting of the North Rangitikci Rifle Association/ to be held on . the local range on {Saturday, 21st., , already show a decided increase on pre- ! vious years. A working bee has made several minor repairs to the range and , the targets have been repapered, and all intending competitors are assured that everything possible has been done i by the executive to make this meeting as popular as in previous years. BOWLING The semi-final of the club championship has been played and G. Green beat Antwis, 23—12. G. Green plays Aplin in the final. In the semi-final of the handicap singles, G. Green beat W. Petherbridgfe, 30 —12. G. Green plays Al. Alexander in the final. Next week end a full day’s play will ! take place, when handicap singles will be held for Mr G. Green’s trophy, and the competition finals will be Completed. Presentations of trophies won during the season will follow.
